Welcome to the Athens Radio Club

The Athens Radio Club (ARC) hosts the KD4QHB 2 meter repeater, located in north Athens atop a 400’ tower. The repeater covers a 30-45 mile radius around Athens, including areas west out GA-316, north across I-85, south down US-441 and out across I-20. We invite you to throw your call out on 145.330MHz (-) PL tone of 123.0/123.0.

The members of ARC are active in the hobby of amateur radio and various public service aspects. The club host several annual events that provide opportunities for operators young and old, from technician to amateur extra licensees, from those still apprehensive of keying the mic to “rag chewers.” Our member can be found in state parks and WMAs playing POTA, and we can be found working a variety of events alongside the Medical Dawgs delivering first aid at UGA football games to providing course communications at triathlons and 5K walks and runs.

If you are interested in becoming licensed, we offer full FCC-recognized testing sessions on the first Tuesday of even-numbered months. 

The Athens Radio Club is affiliated with the American Radio Relay League with the designation as a Special Service Club. 

We are also a member of the Southeastern Repeater Association.

Our goal as a club is to expand the hobby of amateur radio for fun and community involvement.
