Welcome New Licensee

Welcome to the New Membership area of the Athens Radio Club. After taking and passing your HAM exam with Athens Radio Club, you get the remainder of the current year's membership to Athens Radio Club for free.

Hello! My name is Bill McGee, N4WHM, president of the Athens Radio Club.  If we haven’t met yet, I look forward to meeting you soon.

Congratulations on your new or upgraded amateur radio license.  For those of you with a new ticket...the wait on the callsign is painful but worth it.  Use the next couple of days to listen to local repeaters and start programming (or buying  ) your radios.  For those of you who upgraded, I hope you are already enjoying your new privileges.

As was mentioned to you following your VE session, because you tested and passed in Athens, you are entitled to free membership to the Athens Radio Club through the end of the year.  If you are interested in joining ARC, follow the link below to join the club.

We also encourage you to join our GroupsIO list serve as well. Once you join the listserv, feel free to email the group with any questions or requests for help you may have.  Also, share with the group anything you have done with the hobby you think others may find interesting (worked Europe on long path?, built a new 2m yagi?, found the source of RFI in your shack?, took your own images of a solar flare?, activated a new POTA/SOTA?...anything and everything radio related)

You are encouraged to poke around the website and familiarize yourself with our community support and our four annual special events. If you don’t have a radio yet, feel free to listen to the local repeaters on the Broadcastify stream and play around with listening to the HF bands on the SDR.

We look forward to hearing from you, getting to know you better, and hearing how you have grown in the hobby of amateur radio.

Hope to see you soon, 73,

Bill McGee (N4WHM), President

The Athens Radio Club
